Hey everyone, (who is reading the blog)
I think I will come back next year so I will see you then.
I can tell you later which month I will go because I don't know when my school end next summer.
I hope more people of class E will read and write in the blog. I am a bit sad that it's just a few people who is writing :(
0

Anyone?

My first time in Concord was two years ago, in August, and I really like it, as same as in July this year! So I'm sure that we'll have fun there, in August summer school!=)

P.S.Haha, Felix, i'm sure that nowadays we are the only persons who's still writing and reading this blog :D So I think it's better to ask people about next year in Facebook!
0

Next year

August... This year the second Summer Course don't sound that good. I'll decide when I know when most of the other guys come to Concord again. So other Blogger-Users: When do you want to come back? :)
0

Mmmm =)

Unfortunately, I can't go to Concord in July because of passing exams for university =( But I may go in August =) So, if anyone go to Concord in August - see you! =)
0

*lol*

Okj but next year is in one year... ONE YEAR! Too long :P. An hotel abroad hotel...? Sounds quite funny we can remake tarantinos "hostel" :P. No really i'm not really sure weather i can come next year because school is getting really important/hard that time. But i will try everything to come and until then we can stay in contact with blogger/facebook/skype ( my skype name should be toorminator_21 but i'm never sure; i can't even remember my mobil phone number :D ).
Hope to see you soon :)
0

Yay! :D

It's a great idea, Felix, but I don't think that it can be real. =( Just imagine, how can our parents let us go to the hotel, abroad! All we have to do is to try to go next year in Concord again ;)
i very miss you all1 =(
0
Hey guys (I know I have to think of a new greeting :P),
I think it is sad that just 3 of our 13 members of class "E" use the blog. So but that's not the point I want to talk about. If we want to organize a meeting we have to chose a place where we can meet...any ideas? Second the time. Are holidays at the same time in our countrys? We have to discuss. :D Okj I'm waiting for your answers guys :)
0

answer to felix idea

I think Felix's idea was a really good one! It would be fun to meet everyone again
if someone is not coming next summer. So if we could decide some time when everyone
is available to go that would be great :D

And I hope that everyone is not forgetting this blog!
0

quick post :)

Hey guys :)
I miss everyone already :)
oh well, at least we still have the blog :D
I use too many happy faces in my blog posts.
...and I have nothing to say.
Anyways, just think about Felix's idea :)

0
Hey guys,
our time at Concord College is over but that don't means that it's over at all. I think it mustn't end that way that we'll see us never again maybe some next year but the others just on pictures. So what about a meeting? I haven't thought about the little things but mainly: We meet somewhere for a few days maybe in an hotel and everyone who wants to come books just the first flight in that direction. Sounds good huh? =D If there are enough who don't want to let it end we can organize a short trip. =)
Over and out.

Miss you concordians!

Oh guys. I miss you so much! It felt so wrong to leave everyone. After seeing the first bus leave and everyone who cried like crazy I feared to leave with the second bus. It was terrible! To see everyone so sad because we had to leave this beautiful place and our friends. I was lucky to fall asleep on the bus to London. But I hadn't slept anything that night and my bus left 5.30.
When we got to Heathrow it took a long time for us to check in so I was in a really hurry to my flight and I didn't have time to have a real goodbye to my beloved germans!
When I came to Lisbon I had five hours to kill before my flight to Valencia left.
It was really boring but I watched some movies. But when I finally came to Valencia I discovered that my luggage was still in Heathrow! So I panicked a bit but luckily they could track it and send the luggage back to me today.

Well, here in Spain it is so hot! I feels nice to be in the warmth again but it will take some time for me to get used to it. I hope everyone will write in this blog, because it is a good way to communicate with each other when we aren't together. So goodbye, and I hope we will see each other some time in the future :)

THE END OF CONCORD :(

Hi to all concordians!!!
This will be the last article I’m posting to this fantastic blog as the end of the course is really near. It is very diffucult to summarize 25 days in just a few lines. Anyway, I will try to do so.
Everything started the 4th of July when we arrived to Concord, I remember seeing many people in Heathrow Airport that I already knew from last year and also meeting new people, but the most special thing was when we arrived to the college by 6 pm, it is hard to explain how I felt it was a mixture of euphoria and emotive. I also remember quite well the other people arriving in different buses up to 12 pm it was great seeing almost everyone, despite missing some people.
Inmediantly we made very huge groups and have lot of fun, but also we had some problems releated with love and friendship as the one we had yesterday, if the people involved in the conflict are about to read it I would like you to notice something friends fight and that is something that happens always and will continue happening, so please try to solve the problem and remember the good times you have been together.
So turning back to the point, the second day we had the exam for deciding in which level we are and who our class partners are, I really enjoy them!!!
We had also had very funny excursions but I will not focus on it as there many articles about it, what I like to express are my emotions.
Right now I’m feeling together happiness and sadness: happiness for all the good times we spent here together and sadness for having to leave so early if I could stay one month with the same people I will not have any doubt to be here.
Thank you for everything!!
Daniel, Ana, Katerina, Diego, Felix, Jeannie, Nancy, Beliz, Caroline, Alexandra, Stellina, Thomas I will miss you all!!!!

last 2 days

Nothing lasts forever, 2 days later we will get to the end. I'll never forget this summer. I can stay here for one more month even though I miss my country so much. I'll miss my new friends so much, I hope we'll see each other again because Facebook is not enough :) Tomorrow is our last day and it will be perfect, we'll go to Alton Towers. I googled it and when I saw the pictures I was amazed! It's gonna be perfect but I don't know if I have the courage for the roller coaster. Well, we'll see :)

“And the last one”.

So, on Thursday we’ll take our baggage and fly away from England. From Shrewsbury. From lovely Concord College. From our amazing friends and fantastic teachers. And it makes me really sad. Yes, of course, lots of us will come again, but not ALL of us.
Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to Concord College at all – it is like my second house!

Also I’d like to say it to my dear friends – they made my life in Concord so-very-brightful!

And of course, I’d like to say “Thank you SO very much” to my class and to my teachers – we became a kind of a big family. Caroline, Beliz, Stellina, Jeannie, Catarina, Maria, Anna, Nancy, Felix, Diego, Thomas, Daniel – I’ll miss you all so very much, and I love all of you <3

P.s. Till the next Concord College July session just 341 day left ;)

Last blog in Concord!

Today is the last habitual day here at Cincord College. Although we've changed the timetable a bit, we still have classes such as Speaking or Current Affairs and Desktop Publishing. Tomorrow we will all be in Alton Towers (providing that nobody decides to "go for a walk" in the middle of the night) having loads of fun trying everything.

Then, we will come back - in fact this is one of the things I hate most about Concord - we will have supper, play some kind of sports for the last time and then I'm sure everybody will take part in the endless disco, which is only interrupted so as to say goodbye to anyone leaving!
Next year, a lot of people will come again and they'll meet each other again (as it happened this year). Unfortunately I won't be able to come back to this amazing college that has taught me so many things. Nonetheless I truly believe this summer course will continue to be like it is today, with the endless enthusiasm that every single teacher puts in order to make this the best summer course probably in the world!
I'll miss all of you very much!
Thank you for everything!!
Daniel.

The End... or maybe not

Hey guys :)

So we're approaching the end of this course, and we're all leaving soon. But we can still keep in touch, right?
At least we still have one day at Alton Towers to look forward to :)
Now the computer is lagging as I type. :P
After this course, it's still not over. As long as we're all keeping in touch using facebook, mail, chat, blogging, etc, we can still communicate and keep everyone updated on news :)
Let's all put in a blog post once we get back home :)
I'm going to miss you all :)

- Jeannie :)

Today it's our last lesson day. It feels so strange and the time has really gone too fast. It feels like it was a few days ago when we arrived and I was so excited to meet new people. And now three weeks later I've met some wonderful people who I'm definitely going to keep in touch with in the future and I hope we will meet some time again!

Tomorrow it's our last day before we're leaving and we are going to Alton Towers! It's going to be fun and later in the evening there's a disco all night but I have to go quite early in the morning so I won't miss my plane to Spain where I will spend two weeks with my family before going back to Sweden.

That's all for me, and I hope I will hear from all of you in the future!

My last day!

This is my last day in Concord. I will go back to China tomorrow because there are no flights to China on 29th. I feel sad.
I had a good time in Concord. I had many friends in Concord, and also had kind classmates. I think my English has improved during the time. The teachers are great, I like having their lessons. The lessons are different from China. They are more active.
I also enjoyed the activities. The active English lessons are very good. I had cookery lessons and art lessons. I have learned a lot from them. I enjoyed the trips to different places. I like Cardiff best. I learned many British cultures from the trips.
I had horse riding lessons every week. I love riding horse, so I enjoyed it. Yesterday I had my last horse riding lesson. I had been to level 2.
I attend the badminton competition. Yesday was double. Unluckily, we lost. But I still had fun in it.
Maybe I will come back to Concord next year or maybe not. Anyway, I will remember my experiences here. I will miss my teachers, classmates and friends. I will keep this blog and keep touch with my classmates.

Getting to the end!

Well, it's been another brilliant summer course, busy and crazy but always fun! This is my second year as Director of English Studies, and I think I have been lucky to have such a great team of teachers and superb students! It's always sad coming to the end and saying goodbye, but hopefully we will see many of you again next year! Let's have a great end of course show and I hope everyone has a fantastic day at Alton Towers!

Underground? No way!

Yesterday we went to London! Well, I can't say that I had a good day because I was lost! We used the underground to go to the London Eye (at Waterloo). It was really easy to get there, but when we needed to get back, we got lost. We thought that the train would go to Oxford Circus but it didn't, it went to the Elephand&Castle. We wanted to use taxi, but we couldn't find one, or at least we didn't notice any so we used the underground again to go to Marble Arch. It was really complicated, but I was so glad that we find our way. I actually learnt too much about the underground in London and I was really upset that I couldn't do anything else, like shopping or seeing the Tower of London. Because I wasted my time in the underground, I couldn't take any photos of London, just the London Eye and that was it. Time was very short and I was really disappointed...

Keeping in touch using the blog

Hey guys,
You know, I think that after this summer, we should use the blog to keep in touch. Maybe change it a bit, add blog posts on our everyday life, how life is, maybe even plan events.

Just a suggestion. :).

3 DAYS LEFT

Today, Monday the 27th of July is the third day in the countdown to leave Concord, I’ve been talking with many people about this issue and everyone told me that they don’t want to go back to their own countries, that is mainly because concord is a special place where time seems to stop, where there are no bad news coming from all over the world, staying here is like being in a fairytale, a place where you can breathe friendship and in fact that is the most espectacular gift you are getting here, your friends (may be this will reminds you to another article that I’ve already be posted), maybe this will be the last time we are all together, or maybe not. However, we can keep in contact by using facebook, hotmail and mobile phones and when visiting someone’s country we can meet there.
That’s the magic of Concord!!!:)

Trip to London

Yesterday we had an amazing trip to the capital of England,London, which took us all day..!!We left early at the morning and returned really late at night happy and tired....!!

The trip had, I think, pros and cons. The pros were I think that we had the chance to see and walk around London and learn new things about the town such as interesting places and shops..!!Also I went with my friends to the ''temple'' of the Abercrombie to London and I sacrificed some of my money to buy a T-shirt there..!!!The shop was enormous and many people were waiting outside to see it and maybe buy something...!!Something that impressed me was the long queues of people outside the most famous shops such as Abercrombie and the Hard Rock Cafe shop....!!

What I didn't like about this trip was that I realised that some of the people were very rude because when I asked for some information they just said no and left...!!!Moreover I wasn't pleased about the time we had given to spent n London beacuase it was too short you couldn't visit every place ou might have wanted to see...!! :(
So we spent the most of our time in Oxford street and the Pichadily and then was time to leave...!!!But,it was ok we had a lot of fun even it wasn't for too long...!!

So,I think this trip is a good opportunity to come back and visit again London and see the rest of it...!!

Warwick Castle

Yesterday I went to Warwick Castle. At first, I was going to London. But I have been to London several times, so I changed.
I found some information about Wawick Castle. I knew Warwick Castle is one of the top castles in the UK. I thoughrt I might have anice journey.
We started at 9.15, far later than the bus to London. That was great, I could have a good sleep.
At first, we stopped at a town, we did some shopping and had our lunch there. That was a really big shopping centre. I bought a jacket.
In the afternoon, we went to the castle. Though we were unsupervised, we had to stay with a teacher in the castle.
Warwick Castle is a big castle. At first, we saw some weapons in the castle. I was surprised that there were so many weapons in the castles. After that, we saw the knights fighting. I thought that was great.
Then we climbed the tower. The tower is so high that we were very tired of the climbing. But the view was really nice, you can see the great view of whole town.
I wanted to go for the goust walk in the castle, but there was no time left. We went back to the bus.
We went back to Concord at 9 o'clock. That was a great journey. When I went back, some of my friends who went to London haven't been back yet. So I went to sleep very early.

I LOVE LONDON... DO I?

I had never been to london before. and I must say that I was looking forwards to going there. But we had only five hours and a half to visit the whole city.... imposible, unless you can take the tourist bus. but we couldn't because there wasn't enough time (we spent an hour and a half looking for a restaurant...). So we went to the london tower to see the big ben and across the river we could see the london eye.

I really want to come back because yesterday was so exausting and I didn't have time to do many things like visting the buckingam palace or taking the tourist bus. at least I went shopping on oxford street and I could buy some presents for my friends from spaiN.

I thing I can't even say if I like london or not because I feel that I couldn't see many important things there. yesterday was such an exausting day... but I feel like the only thing I did was shopping... I didn't wanted to go shopping! I wanted to see the city! ¬¬ but I undestand that it's a bit boring for people who have been to london before to visit all the city again. Anyway we didn't have time.

I hope next time I'll come I'll have more time to see the city!!

London

Our trip to London; Without Sightseeing ^^
A few days ago we went to London and my first impression was: the busiest city I've ever been to! That's why I don't like it that much; my favorite city is still San Francisco. After a few hours in the bus we arrived and the first stop was McDonald's. Having eaten a McChicken burger and that kind of stuff we started walking down the streets of London. Me and my cool group (Diego, Aimery, Tanguy and Thibault) walked down that famous street, Oxford Street, totally calm and relaxed and we visited a few shops like Footlocker, Nike Store and that sweet souvenir shop with the condoms. One of our main-stays was definitely Hamleys Toy-store. It woke the children in all of us so we spent lots of time there watching the screenings and wondering what new strange toys were invented. Then we ran arround searching Abercrombie & Fitch and thank to Diego we found it... on our way to the police station to ask for it. After having survived the queue for entering it, I was surprised because it was styled like a night-club. Actually that's not that bad but I just wanted to buy a shirt or whatever but it was too dark...and too expensive. Then we begun our way back to the buses with a short stay at McDonald's we came back 40 minutes too late because that sheet of paper with the map on it said that we have to be back at six, so we came back at quarter past six. However the drive back was very funny again thanks to Karina. We arrived a few hours later nonetheless it seemed like half an hour. I went to my room and felt asleep... after a few hours because I drank the whole day energy-drinks.

That was my day in London and I came to the result that the "friendship-groups" are too big to go shopping, all I bought were stupid souvenirs. Anyway I enjoyed my time in London and especially here at Concord College and I wish I had booked two months but I want to come back in a year.

London

After being here for 23 days (probably for most of us the best 23 days in our lives) we're now watching a bit sadly how the end of this course approaches.
During this time, we've visited some of the most important British landmarks, which include Chester, Cardiff, Oxford and London.
Yesterday, everyone older than 14 had the chance to go to the Capital of England. Known for being the biggest city in Europe, it has over 7 and a half million inhabitants. It is located in the South East of England, as shown on the map

Concord buses arrived there at 12:30 am and we were told that everyone had to be there at half past five to return to the school.
Students spent their time in a number of ways: some of them went sightseeing, others went shopping (the most common places were Oxford Street and Regent Street), others had only time to get lost in the underground...

Well in the end everyone enjoyed the trip to this amazing city full of places to discover and things to do. Hope you will all return again at some time in your life!

Daniel.

The course is finishing in 3 days... I cannot realise it but it is going to happen. I will really miss you all guys and I hope we will keep in touch. I also want to go to Shrewsbury again, cause I just discovered my favourite store there. :P I have no money left anyway... This trip to london, what a nightmare!! I was like a zombie when we came back and we had to wake up early this morning. It's so freaking big this town and everybody is so rude. We were lost quite a few times with my friens and when I was asking for some information the only people who helped me were Spanish and Italian tourists... With all the people from London I had the same dialogue, like: "Can I ask you something?" "NO!!". I mean what's wrong? Whatever I will get over it...
Tomorrow is the final show and on Wednesday we have Alton Towers!!! You will all have the best time there, I can assure you. But there are huge lines before the games and we will be so tired afterwards. By the time we 'll arrive the endless dsco will begin and then we will wave our friends goodbye... We are not going to see them again for quite a long time... But we will one day:)
Let's go to see a man about a dog ;)

Warwick Castle (and its awesomeness)

Since I think not many people from this class went to Warwick Castle this weekend, I'll write a blog entry on it :)
We took the bus to the mall first, where we shopped and ate lunch. Since the mall was pretty big, we had about 1 and a half hour to walk around. I bought lots of candy (again), but there wasn't really anything else that suited me.
So then we hopped back on the bus to Warwick Castle. It was nice there, the weather was pretty good, although it rained a bit while we were watching the knights battling on horses. That was pretty cool, and we also took a tour of the castle towers (very cramped staircases going round and round, made me dizzy). The view from the top was great, although people afraid of heights would be terrified. There was a slight breeze, so it felt really good and we didn't really want to leave. We also went into the great hall, where all the weapons were displayed. I really loved that room, it was so big, and bows, spears, and swords were mounted on the walls, displayed in cases, and there were even a few knights' armors. It was great, and I even bought a couple of souvenirs. Maybe I'll return someday to the castle :) It was impressive.

London

Hello everyone!
This is officially my last post to this blog. Yesterday – Sunday 25 of July – we visited London..! I was so excited that I would go once more to this fantastic city. I was supervised so I had to go to the museum. It turned out, noone wanted to go there so we had a long walk to Buckingham Palace, to Hyde Park and finally Big Ben. We were all exhausted, and worried that we wouldn’t have enough time to go for shopping, so we took the bus and walked a little to Abercrombie & Fitch! Everyone wanted to buy something from that amazing shop. Well….because of the queue in the main entrance we had to wait for a couple of minutes, and after selecting many items we went to the cashier to pay, we were in SHOCK! The queue was three times longer and we spent all of our time waiting there. We still had 10 to 15 minutes so all the boys and some girls went to Nike Town and the rest of the girls went to TOP SHOP.! I wasn’t really surprised when I realised we were late since a lady in the front had a problem with the stuff she had bought! We all ran and when we finally arrived we waited for half an hour for some students who were lost. Anyway, after a long road trip we arrived at Concord at 11 pm, exausted, so we fell asleep. It was an amazing trip I will never forget!

London !!!

Yesterday, we went to LONDON !!!

It was great !!! After having eaten in McDonald's, we walked in Oxford Street...

Program:

- Souvenir shop

- Foot Locker

- Nike Town

- Hamley's Toys

- Abercrombie & Fitch

- McDonald's again !!!

I loved Hamley's toys... It's the world's biggest toys shop. Despite being my third time in there, I still enjoyed it so much ^^.

You think that it is just for little children but you would be wrong, there's toys for everyone... Magic tricks, electronic stuff, etc... 7 floors of "happiness" ^^...

Then we went to Abercrombie & Fitch... To find it: just follow the mass of people...

When we get there, I was quit disturb because there was a seller who just looked like me in the entry every one thought I was working there...
^^ Just joking...

Anyway... We came back half an hour to late...
4 hours of journey...Lovely... But I watch a movie and I was quit comfortable because a friend gave me the wonderful idea to take my pillows. ;P

But good news never come alone... Having been in London mean that it is almost the end of the Concord, and it makes me really sad... And don't know if I'll cme back next year. I'll try to convince my parents but there's nothing sure yet...

Hope I'll see you again next year ^^... I'll miss you...

London

Yesterday we went to London. It was my first time so I was really excited. The three and a half hour bus ride went quite quickly because I watched a movie with my friend. When we got to London it was very hot and my friend Cornelia was hungry because she hadn't eaten any breakfast and Antonia and Maddie was also hungry. So we went looking for a Thai-resturant.
It took almost one and a half our to find it, but it was worth it because it was really good!

After our lunch, I wanted to go to Abercrombie & Fitch, my favorite store.
I think it took an hourto find it, and when we got there, there was a long line to the entrance. And inside the store there stood a halfnaked Abercrombie model. I have to admit that it was hard to not look at him. The whole store was crowded with people and there was lines everywhere for everything! I love Abercrombie even if it's really expensive, but they have nice clothes and it's worth the price.

When we got out of the store, smelling like Abercrombie's perfume
we had about an hour until our bus was leaving, and we hadn't done
any sightseeing at all, which I thougt was a really pity since it was my first
time and I wanted to see so much more things. But I think I will come back here some other time, and then I will go sightseeing and do more shopping!
But the bus ride home was really funny. I sat with my friends and we talked
and took funny pictures of each other and I was really tired when I got back home!

Now it's like four days until we leave. It feels a bit sad
to leave everyone, but I know we will keep in touch through Facebook
and such so we wont forget eachother.
That's all for me so bye bye and see you later!

Destination: London

So, we were in London last Sunday. The weather was quite good, the mood was quite good and the city view was quite good. You know, I have been in London 4 times, so, it wasn’t difficult for me to show my friends Buckingham Palace, London Eye, House of Parlament and Trafalgar Square. It was very interesting, though! But the only thing I’m dissappointed about is that we didn’t go to the Oxford Street :( And I’ll be on this street only next year!
But, actually, we found our bus very easily ‘cause of map. But lots of students didn’t know the way to the buses and got lost themselves in this enormous country! We were waiting lots of them in the bus for 1,5 hour (we must go to Concord at 5.30 pm, but we went only at nearly 7.00 pm).
We had a very friendly bus – while we were going to Concord, all bus sang Russian and Turkey songs – it was really cool ;) And at the end of our excursion I was a little bit sad, ‘cause I realized that on Thursday almost all of us will go home :( I’ll miss everyone!!!

But I’ll write something else in Concord College Blog, I promise ;) See you soon!)

Last day on Shrewsbury

This Wednesday was our last trip to our nearest town Shrewsbury, the city where Darwin was born, may be we won’t go there anymore. Although we are not going to be there physically this little town will always have a small space in our hearts and we will always remember the time we spent there with our friends having a hamburger in McDonalds, going shopping in the shopping centre, drinking Frappuccinos in Starbucks Coffee or just being sat in the grass of the park chatting with your friends.

Many memories, many stories, many funny times, some of them sad, but in general all special.

Thank you very much Shrewsbury for filling our hearts!!!

Hope to see you soon.

Steam Train

Yesterday there was a steam train trip, we met at one o'clock in Main Hall, Mr Howe was the one of the teachers that came with us. The train was smaller that I thought but i can't deny, The view of the area amazed me, I had so much fun there.
While we were waiting for the other train to go back, we had a cup of tea, and a delicious cake. Before we had arrived to school, we went to a supermarket. I bought delicious things, even I was on a diet :) We arrived at Concord at six o'clock. The time passed so fast that it was hard to realize.

ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT...

Only one week left! So sad! I can't believe that we've been here for two weeks and a half. but there are still lots of things to do: today there's a karaoke on the west end. I thing it's going to be very funny to see our friends singing and.. who knows? we might discover a secret talent tonight... by the way, there's a talent show tomorow. It seems to me that it's going to be a wonderful show. Unlukely there are many people who don't want to be in it despite the fact that they're very talented. most people are going to sing, but there are people playing the piano or other instruments. these days the music rooms are full of people practising and, honestly, I thing that they are all really really good.
On saturday there's an international voleiball competion and on sunday there's a trip to the beautiful london. I'm looking forwards to going there because I've never been to london but I've heard it's just lovely.

Last trip to Shrewsbury

As we're approaching the end of this amazing summer course, every day we realize it might be the last time in your life that you actually do what you're doing.
It happened to me yesterday. While going on the bus in our way to Shrewsbury I understood that that was likely to be the last time I ever visited that lovely village. It is my second year at Concord College, and as far as I can remeber I have gone there for six times. It helps us to disconnect from the daily routine, as we go there every Wednesday afternoon. Moreover, it's there where you can buy some food for just a quid or just relax having a Frapuccino at Starbucks.

I felt a bit sad when I left the village but I'm sure I'll try to come back in any way! Next week, Wednesday, we'll be in Alton Towers, where we will all have lods of fun for sure!

Hope to see you soon

6 days left...

Hello my friends...
How are you today? I hope you are all ok. I just realised that in 6 days I 'll say goodbye to Concord College forever, after 3 years. I'm really sad for leaving that place but I will have some unforgetable memories to carry with me in my hole life. And also friendships. I want to apologize if I made anybody feel bad. Because as teenagers sometimes we cannot control many things and we end up sad without even realizing what we did. I wish you all have a perfect summer with your beloved friends and family.
Thank you Concord for the great times,
Katerina.

Final week at Concord

This is the last week of Concord for the July summer course and I think it's going to be the most exciting...!!The week starts with an extreme activity for me which is the go-karting and I can't wait to have a try. This week is planned the trip to London and ofcourse the visit to the famous Alton Towers which I 'm looking forward to see...!!!

Also on Friday we have the talent show where talented students will give their best perfomance to win it and on the following day are the nationality games such as volleyball!

But, I think that the main event on Saturday is the football match between the students and the teachers who are hoping to win that game...!!

Thats for now,see you on my next post..!!

I don't know what to name this. :)

blogging time! :D

So I've been sick these couple days, and I haven't done much except mope around and feel sick. Every time I say I feel better, I get worse. At least I went to the 'Hogwarts Express' yesterday (which was very small and only had 2 carriages :\ )
Classes so far are really good, and I'm happy that I've scored good marks on both tests. I think everyone's got good marks, and classes are great and entertaining, so we could last another week here :)
Time flies when you're having fun. I can't believe we're all leaving next week, but one thing's certain - I'll miss this place and everyone here. Maybe I'll return next year.
I can't wait to go home, but I don't want to leave either. I guess you could call that mixed feelings.

Last week at Concord

OMG...this is my last week here at Concord! I can't believe it is almost over. When I leave this place and go back home I will feel really empty without my new friends and everything will seem so different. I have been here for three weeks and somehow I got used to everything. Wake up in the morning(so tired), eat breakfast (still so tired), textbook class(so interesting and fun), break(tuck shop- kit Kat), speaking class( I love it!!!), reading and writing( blog time and fun activities), lunch, activities, rest, supper, disco-movies! I just know I will miss all those things.

Anyway, I believe that this last week will be awesome! International volleyball game, London, Alton Towers, The Last Disco night. Even though all this will be happening on the last week I can’t wait! It will be so much fun...!

Concord Special News ( CSN )

1)Yesterday we had a disco, and two Spanish people had a birthday! So, all the Spanish people came on the disco in white clothes, and it looked fantastic! Happy birthday to them :)
2)It’s been raining in Concord College for a week. And, unfortunately, lots of interesting competitions were interrupted. And Volleyball class competitions were cancelled too. Actually, I don’t like volleyball, but I must play for my class, and, to be honest, when I heard about cancelling comps, I was happy ;)
3)Tomorrow is a Talent Show! A lot of boys and girls will show their talents, from dancing to playing musical instruments, from photography to singing! Don’t miss it, ‘cause it’s gonna be a very interesting show!
4)And the last sad one..Last trip to Shrewsbury was yesterday. Although I have been there for six times, and, by the way, I don’t like it so very much, I felt sad. The word “last” makes me sad because it is only a week left…and after that all of us go to our own countries and, maybe, we won’t meet each other ever. :(

That’s all best news for today, so, see you soon & read our blog!

Walk, Adventure

Yesterday I took part in the Goust Walk. I was told that it is really good and frightening, I became a little excited. I like such things.

I went with my friends, and there were three parts in the walk. The first one was walking in the dark under the ground floor. I think that part was alittle boring, there was nothing strange. During the walk, the teacher told us a story about our walk. The main charactor was a boy who called Jimmy, liked taking photos died in the church, when WW2 was going.

After that, we walked to the church, the place where Jimmy died. I Think that part was like a church tour, but I like travelling, so I enjoyed it.

I like the last part most. That was adventure. We wore a mask on the face, that we couldn't see anything. Then we wore a safe hat. The friendly gousts(after it finished,I knew on of them was my room teacher!) led us to a rope and told us followed the rope and never took the mask off. We started.

At the beginning, I was a little afraid because I was alone, without my friends. But a moment later, I realized there were teachers around me, they sometimes led me.

After I walked around a tree again, I couldn't find the rope. Then someone asked me,'What are you looking for? 'I answered,'The rope.' He told me that it was the end of the rope.

When I took the mask off, I realized I was in the middle of the old castle. I think that was fun and also adventure.

That was really a nice trip, you must go and have a try

Conference Room

The definition of FUN, is that which causes amusement or laughter - a joke, a good story, a great game can all be FUN.

Dressing up in old clothes, covering your head with a woolly scarf, pulling a threatening looking mask over your face, taking a weapon and loading it with 300 rounds of ammunition and then shooting other people as often as possible... this is not fun, this is PAINTBALLING.

A large group of mad lads and even madder staff spent a pleasant afternoon last Sunday blasting each other to pieces, giving the staff, Miss Sherratt and Miss De - Vergori bruises where they have never had bruises before. This is not FUN, this is PAIN.

The definition of pain is that which causes suffering or distress. Suffering and distress were evident on Sunday. The bruises continue to cause pain.

The conclusion is therefore that paintballing = pain =fun = strange.

We continue to debate this issue in the Conference Room

This Saturday we went a trip to Cardiff which is located at Wales...!!So we did a three hour trip across another country, Wales..!!

Though the long journey with the bus we finally arrived..!!The weather was fine so the trip was even better...!!What really impressed me from this town was that I saw a new language and that was Welsh...!!I noticed it in the signs which were written in English and Welsh...!!The first one I saw was a sign outside a shop were it was written the days and the opening hours of the shop, but what I saw was two completely different languages...!!

Also what I really liked was the big street of the Cardiff were cars weren't aloud and it was full of shops and people...!!I think I liked it most because it reminded me a similiar street to Athens...!!So,that's for today...!!

See you on my next post Concordians...!!

Hello Concord,
This is my third week, here, at Concord Summer School. I can't believe how fast time flies. I am really sad at the thought of leaving this wonderful place.! Anyway, what I would like to talk about actually is our trip to Cardiff, Wales.
Last Saturday, we visited Cardiff, a wonderful city in Wales. The buildings, the trees, the parks, the environment, it was something admirable since I have never been to such a modern city before! Unfortunately, I was supervised so we went to the Dr.Who exhibition, which turned out to be boring and it was over in about 5 minutes. So, we went to grab something to eat at Subway, and I must say it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! To make things even better, we split into two groups of boys and girls to go for shopping, FINALLY! Never in my life have I seen such a peaceful, wonderful, amazing shopping mall. I was in shock! I could live there, the shops were Awesome and the building was exquisite..! After a day of shopping and a lot of food we had to go back to Concord. ): . I got sick of that school bus, it was a 3hours drive!
Anyhow, I had a wonderful day that I will always remember. I hope that one day I will go back and enjoy many days in Cardiff!

Concord 4-ever ^^

Hey everybody !!!

It's now my second time in Concord and I just wanted to say how much I enjoy it...

It is so cool to be here (again)! There is so much to do in here, we never get bored! We meet new friends, we do a lots of activities but we can also relax in the "West-End", my favourite place!

Activities aren't missing at night too: disco, movies, ghost-walk, etc...
There's even outdoors activities, like ice-skating, laser-quest, bowling, mountain biking, and much more other stuff to do!!!
Each wednesday we go to Shrewsbury and saturdays, we go to big cities... Next one: London!!!
And there's still the best part... At the end of the month: ALTON' S TOWERS!!! I just can't wait...
The only bad thing in here, and I think we all agree: the food is disgusting... But we'll survive... XD

Wish you a really good time in Concord...

PS: My post might sound a bit (a lot) childish but I didn't know what to say and I had to do it for my lesson (no offence Ms. Turner) ;P

My first surprise at Concord College

Hi guys,

Today I want to talk about something you may already know. I'm talking about my clock. You all know that Britain has a different time; that means that you have to change the time on your watch. That's what I did the first day and I really thought that everything was done. Wrong! Because the next morning I woke up at eight so I hurried up. Breakfast finishes at half past eight and I didn't want to be late. So I ran out of my room over the campus but in front of the dining room there was no-one. Totally confused I went back to my room and looked at my timetable. It was right: breakfast at eight. The current time was 8:15! Confused, more confused, most confused! I went out again. Still no-one there. Then I had an idea. I went to my room and searched my IPod. Many of you have an IPod Touch so you will know that function, the watch. Well that gadget can show you the time at other cities of the world and that's what I used. The result: 8:20 in Germany and 7:20 in Britain. My clock had changed itself back to German time by radio control. Since then it happens nearly every day but I'm not confused anymore. My tip: trust in old technologies like hourglasses and if you don't have one, a mobile phone will work, too.

Over and out

Oxford for Concorders :)

On Sunday I and nearly 50 people went to Oxford. You know, this is my favourite city in UK, so I couldn't miss this chance, despite the fact that this excursion was an extra cost. Although we had to drive for 3 hours to get there, Oxford met us in a very good way.It was a sunny day! There were old houses & amazing colleges ,and they looked fantastic!

To be honest, if I lived in England, I'd live in Oxford. This city with 151000 inhabitants is at the same time unforgettable and stunning with beautiful streets.

Umm. And the last one thing! When we came back to Concord, almost all of us were wearing Oxford hoodies! It looked like we were studying at Oxford University, not in Concord College :)

See you later! Hope you love my small story :)

Today it's been about two weeks since we arrived here and I have
started to get used to living here. It's nice to have a routine sometimes
even if it's summer. But we do really fun stuff here, and there's always
different activites and something to do. Yesterday I was at the gym with my friend
Cornelia. It was nice to do a hard workout :) And later we watched a few
movies and talked.

Today we're going to play volleyball for our class competition!
I hope it's going to be fun.

Have a nice day!

Trip to beautiful Chester

A late post about our trip to Chester.
On Saturday we went to Chester, one of Great Britain's oldest towns.
The first thing I did in Chester was eat breakfast, because
both me and my friend were slow in the morning.
After the delicious breakfast we went shopping in one of the shopping malls. We were
so surprised that there were so many stores with different brands
and so on. After I while, some of us became hungry and we headed
for the Sushi-bar we had found. And all of us love sushi so
it was wonderful to eat it! After our lunch we went to see more
of the beautiful town and its people. And we did some more
shopping of course ;)

And I also took some pictures

at the shopping mall

Cornelia and the singing guy

Some people on a bench

Sushi :D

Trip to Chester

On Saturday we went a trip to Chester. It is an amazing place to visit because you have a lot of things to do and see.I really liked the big shopping centre because all the shops were in one place so you colud find anything you wish.

What really impressed me was a thing I saw in one road of Chester. It was a sign saying
drinking area and all people were holding a beer on their hand. That really impressed me because in Greece you can drink wherever you want.

Moreover,I really liked the musicians in the streets of Chester who gave everyone a music break from their jobs or shopping!!

See you, maybe on the next trip....!!

EXPO, Shanghai, China

Do you know the world EXPO? Now, it is held in my city, Shanghai, China. Maybe some of you don't know what that is,but that's a important event in my country. I only can tell you that is a big international exhibition. If you want to know more things about that, you can search on the Internet.

I have been there twice. It was really interesting. The pavillions are really nice. They show cultures of different countries. I've been to the UK Pavillion, Italion Pavillion, Greece Pavillion and so on. I wanted to visit the German Pavillion, but there were too many people, so I failed.

In my opinion, the most popular pavilions are Japanese Pavilion and Saudi Arabia Pavilion. There always have a lot of visitors. Of course, I haven't been there yet.

Chinese Pavilion is also very popular. That just because there are so many Chinese want to see their native pavilion.

I am now planning another trip to the EXPO with my friends. A friend of mine told me that she had been to many popular pavilions, and that was fun. So, when I back to China, I will go with my friends.

To know more about your native pavilion, go to

8th official day at Concord, and I think I'm getting used to life here. It's very different from where I come from, Hong Kong, especially the weather. It's quite warm in Hong Kong, but here, I really need to buy a thicker sweater.
There's so much to do here, I can't choose what to do! I guess that's why they give us 3 weeks here so we can try out all the activities. At least we still have about 2 and a half weeks here because there's so much I haven't done yet. The daily activities always change, and I can't wait to go skating on Thursday. Once I go skating, I might even write a blog entry about it. :)

:D

Hello Concord!!!
Today is everybody’s 9th day here, and I bet you all have a nice time 
I have been here twice before (as some other lovely people) and have special feelings about this place. You should know that some of your friends that you have just met here are going to stay with you for a long time and will absolutely change your life. What I can say with pleasure is that they have made mine better and they still make it every day… Don’t mind the early wake up, the strict rules, the creepy spiders, the ghosts or the strange food because this is not what you will remember in two years from now! Just have fun with your old and new friends without worries.
**yeyyy Spain won!!
Katerina.

It’s my 8th day here at Concord College. Everything it’s so beautiful! I love to see grass all around the campus. It’s just so nice. I’ve never been to a summer college as big as this one. It’s the first time I am in England, so I’m very excited and I’m looking forwards to learn more things about this beautiful country.
It has been difficult for me to get use to the new weather… I live in Spain and it’s much hotter there. But when you get use to it it’d just ok (although I prefer a hotter weather).
It’s so nice to meet new people! Everyone is so friendly. I can’t believe that we only have three weeks to be together. That’s so sad. We might never see each other again! But for now I don’t want to thing about that. I want to have fun and be with them as much as possible.

DANCING ACTIVITY

Every Monday and Thursday we have our dance activity! It is so interesting; we get to perform 2 fantastic choreographies that are so different. The first one is actually street dance and the other one is about Michael Jackson’s song ‘’Thriller’’! I was really anxious in the beginning because I didn’t know how I could remember all those moves, but it turns out I remember them and each time they seem easier. Every time I just cant wait for this one hour and a half to come. I just seem to love this sport, the teachers are like professionals and they show as such cool moves which I am sure will impress the students at the talent show. I really can’t wait until I see what we are going to wear, and anyway, I just hope that everything will be fantastic!

Chester Trip :)

The trip to Chester was really nice! Even the bad weather at the begining of the day didn't make it bad! (Sorry for my uncorrect writing).
Actually, I don't like small towns, 'cause i prefer big ones. But Chester is a very interesting place!
And now some interesting facts about it:
1) You know, I didn't think that Chester is a noisy town, but I was wrong! Lots and LOTS of people were walking throw the streets and shouted "Holland! Holland!", and others shouted "Spain! Spain!" (I congrats Spain again, though ;)).
2) By the way, in the city centre there are lots of interesting shops & shopping malls! From Zara to H&M, from TopShop to RiverIsland - just enjoy!
3) And the last one - on Saturday there were.. horseraces! You know, near the bus stop there was a giant field fulled of people. And I & my friends have done lots of amazing photos!

Well, I'll write about something new during these days. See you later, alligator :)

The Art Room

The art room is a great place for budding artists (or people who just love art!) I’ve been to the art room many times this past week, and I recommend it to anyone who has spare time. Open on weekdays and Sundays, the art room always has something for you to do. Yesterday, we were outside painting posters for the Concord International Volleyball tournament. We were also painting umbrellas so we could paint designs on them. You can also work on your projects from class, or you could choose to start something else, and make it a masterpiece! The art room is a friendly environment, and the teachers who work there are always kind and will help you if you need help on art. They can also provide you with materials and ideas for new projects. The art room is a great place to spend time in, and everyone has the talent to create a masterpiece.

SPANISH WORLD CUP

Last night Spain won the first world cup!!!! And we had a great party here at Concord, specially the Spanish; we were waving our flags, singing Spanish songs and shouting how much we love football players!!! Everyone congratulates us!!!
As an Spanish I am really happy, after the match I called my family and they told me that there was a great party there.

First time playing badminton in Concord

Last Wednesday, I think, I met some students from China, my country. Of course, I felt very happy. During lunch, they told me they often play badminton in the sports hall after class. I like playing badminton, but I hadn't been to the sports hall yet. So, I went with them.
You can guess what happened next, we played badminton then. I must say, that was really interesting. I used to think I played badminton very well, but my new friends played far better than me. I had to practise more.
We played and played, that was fun, you know. We played until 9 p.m. I think I played a little more because I felt very tired next day morning, and my arm had something wrong. My new friends joked about my arm over breakfast.
During morning break, I think, the sports teacher asked us if we would like to take part in the badminton competition. We said 'yes', and I entered for the singles. But, I felt a little nervous.

FIRST DAYS AT CONCORD

I’m really happy to be here back again in Concord College, one of the most special places I’ve ever known.
Although weather is not quite good there are many things you can do: practice sports in the Sports Hall, have a relax time with your friends in the West End, go on different trips to Shrewsbury, Chester, Cardiff, London and Alton Towers, cook your own food in cookery lessons, design your own things in the Art Class and many more that I’m forgetting.
However, there are two main reasons why we are attending this summer course, the first one is to improve our English and to get confidence to talk with foreign people in this language and the second one is to meet friends from different nationalities and when leaving keep in touch with them by e-mail or by phone because they will be friends for all life.

Love you all concordians!!!!
2
Last Thursday, at the West End, all the Concord College’s students were able to enjoy the football match facing Germany against Spain (comity of Miss G and Mister Lumley who worked hard to make sure everything was OK before the kick-off)

The ambience was incredible. There were many German supporters, but it was quite obvious that Spanish supporters were bigger in number, and of course, they were noisier. Almost every one was wearing something representative from there country so that there wouldn’t be any doubts about their origin and beliefs.

As the match went on so did everyone’s nerves. Due to the Spanish team superiority, and because of the amazing way they were playing, Germans’ initial smiles quickly turned into hopeless faces knowing that it was just a matter of time. When the clock reached minute 73 Spain scored a brilliant goal which let them qualify for the final which will take place this Sunday. Spanish supporters were delighted, as opposite to most part of the Sports Staff which seemed to be a little disappointed (including Miss G who had brilliantly predicted that Spain was going to lose the match) with the Spanish victory.

Class E encourages everyone to see the match on Sunday which will decide which is the best team in the world. Good luck for everyone!!

PS: Amazingly, octopus Paul was right again!

Blog for Monday 12th. July

Hello all in Class E (Classy!),
Your tasks today are:

1. to add your diary entry from last week (copy and paste). You could also complete your personal profile (add a picture if you want!)

2. to create your first piece of writing for the Blogazine! Pick something you did, saw or took part in last week at Concord (trip to Shrewsbury/Chester, sports, films, the West End disco, riding, skating, golf, swimming etc....) and write a short review, giving your thoughts and impressions of the event.

I look forward to reading your writing - and seeing your pictures!

Ms Turner

Concord College day 4

Well, we’ve started a new project in our writing class with Ms Turner.

All of the student in our class is going write stuff in a blog, such as our thoughts and what’s happening here on Concord. Today I’m really tired, not just because of the terrible weather but also because we were in Shrewsbury yesterday and all that walking made my feet’s hurt really badly. And yesterday, just after bedtime, the fire alarm went, and everyone had to go out. And it’s was freezing!

Even if we only have been her for like four days it feels like I’ve been here for two weeks or something. I even made a list of the things I miss the most back home in Sweden.

My mothers meatballs, Swedish candy, vegetables, my family, but I think I miss my boyfriend the most. It’s so terrible to be away from him this long.

But to look at the bright side, I’ve made some new friends from different countries and that’s one of the biggest reasons I came here, apart from learning English. And it’s always nice to make new friends right?

Well that’s all I can come up with now so bye, and have a nice day everyone :)
